ComingChat CTO on the advantages of Aptos and Move languages

On September 22, ComingChat CTO Qinghuan was invited to participate in the Twitter space hosted by CIG and talked about the advantages of the new public chain Aptos and Move language and the progress of the Aptos ecology and other popular issues with other outstanding builders.

Q: Please introduce yourself.

A: ComingChat is a private social finance software, Social and Game. Our vision is “WeChat” and “QQ” in the web3 era. At present, ComingChat’s business includes five sectors:
-Payment system: Omnichain wallet with open-source SDK. In addition to BTC, EVM ecology, Solana, etc., we are the first mobile wallet to access Aptos and Sui.
-Social system: End-to-end encrypted private chat and DAO Moments based on Signal protocol, super large group chat consistently with Telegram.
-Digit identity system: Decentralized digital identity ComingID, which will be deployed to the Aptos network.
-Financial system: Omnichain exchange and lending based on layerzero protocol.
-Game system: Blockchain game and GameFi NFT prop trading marketplace with the small program as the carrier.

Q: When and from what sources did you learn about Aptos?

A: The ComingChat team noticed very early on that we actually noticed the move language first, and move is a really great virtual machine that is extremely groundbreaking.
As you know, the predecessor was facebook libra, then libra was renamed to Diem and sold by Facebook, and the original Diem team was disbanded, in which the team members set up three public chains based on Aptos and Sui and linera.

Q: Please tell us what impresses you most about Aptos as a new public chain and how it compares to other L1 public chains.

A:Aptos/Sui is supported by three years of developing strength and branding invested by Facebook, and his consensus mechanism has sub-second finality, transactions can be confirmed within 1 second, as well as the parallel execution framework and Move language that has come out, all of which are greatly innovative and completely different from Ether.

Current public chains can be divided into three parallel universes:
-Bitcoin, the monopoly of the era of decentralized currency, is characterized by: POW, UTXO, scrip scripts, and other payment chains are fork chains of Bitcoin, begging for a living in the shadow of Bitcoin.
-Ethiopia, monopolizing the current smart contract programming ecosystem, features Gas, global state tree model, EVM, Solidity, other Ethereum-like contract chains, always forking Ethereum, no innovation of their own.
-There are EOS and Solana, which are unique to the Ether system, but they have no chance to stand out and become the third “parallel universe” public chain era parallel to the pioneering level of Bitcoin and Ether. The Move public chain (Aptos/Sui) that we are now pursuing has the potential to become the third “parallel universe” chain.

The Aptos/Sui public chain has the potential to create a parallel, high-performance, and highly secure smart contract programming platform.

Q: What are the features and advantages of the Move language?

A: From a programmer’s point of view, I would like to add the following to parallel computing.

Programs can be processed serially or in parallel
1, solidity’s EVM virtual machine transactions are executed sequentially one by one, for example, in a 4-core 16G machine, serial does not take full advantage of multi-core.
2, Aptos transactions are pre-sorted in the block and divided between processor threads, for a 32-core CPU, 32 threads can be opened without switching between kernel and user states. The difficulty of parallel processing is identifying independent transactions, where AMMs in the same pool are correlated.

The move can be summarized as fast, secure, and self-iterating.
In the public chain space, there are three main and most well-known blockchain programming languages: Solidity is the largest; the second is the WASM language, and the third is Move.

Solidity’s underlying layer basically doesn’t iterate, but rather the tools or protocols on it, such as ERC-721, which has no ability to grow itself. (But there is no denying that Solidity’s ecosystem is strong enough, with hundreds of billions of dollars of assets and several years of time to test its reliability)

The WASM language is an intermediate state language, developed by Netscape, which is so large and comprehensive that any language can be compiled into an intermediate language with it. However, its security is difficult to control because of its large volume.

The Move language has features that are useful for an ecosystem that wants to grow quickly — it’s fast and the code is easy to build and deploy.

The second great feature of the Move language is security
-At the language level, Move has its own ownership mechanism, like Rust
At the syntax level, the resource-oriented programming model gives Move a strong data abstraction capability.
-At the virtual machine level, similar to Java, Move has its own bytecode checker. On top of that, it has a formal verification tool, Move Prover, which helps programmers do brute force exhaustive testing to determine if there are bugs in the system.

The Move language is a late development, not a pre-development, so it is very self-iterating.

The Move language is a language developed by Facebook from the beginning at a high level, summarizing the problems of the blockchain track. It is self-iterating and particularly strong in performance.

Q: With the Big 4 L2 now in full swing, how is the ecological development of Aptos going so far?

A: There are 200+ projects that have announced their entry into the Aptos ecosystem, covering everything from wallets, browsers, NFT, Defi and more.

Q: Can you tell us about the most interesting tracks and specific projects in the Aptos ecosystem right now?

A: For ecology, I feel there are two aspects of the track, one is the bridge and one is NFT. bridge solves the problem of capital entry, NFT brings great playability and will greatly expand the GameFi experience for extremely high TPS public chains like Aptos.
Here I introduce Omnibtc, featuring the following.
1, Omnichain exchange, in addition to EVM ecology, already supports Dex aggregation within the Aptos ecology.
2, OmniBridge.
In a decentralized ultra-light node cross-chain bridge, the main business is to hit BTC as well as Aptos/Sui ecology, so that BTC holders can fully trust BTC to the lightning network, and then come to Aptos/Sui to use any Defi and GameFi products.
The current main technical solution is: using BTC’s L2 network ChainX as a BTC relay network, combined with LayerZero messaging protocol, OmniBTC sends BTC to the Move VM of Aptos/Sui network, making the mirrored assets available in the Move language.

Q: Aptos recently ran a test network NFT event and it had hundreds of thousands of participants, most of whom stood to be considered for the airdrop rewards. So, what are the expectations for Aptos’ coin offerings and airdrops?

A: The clearer way for Aptos to get airdrops is to participate in the verification nodes of the test network and the main network. By participating in the Aptos ecological project testing and experience, you also have more chances to get the ecological project airdrop.

Q: Aptos has strong capital attributes and has many top-tier investors, but some people say that Aptos is overvalued and there is no more room for imagination in the secondary market. What do you think?

A: Aptos’ latest round of funding was invested with the participation of China Coin Trust and other institutions, and the current external valuation has reached $5 billion, with reference to Solana in the same period, which currently has a circulating market cap of around $11 billion.

For the listing, such a high valuation, a large part of the reason comes from the backing of Facebook Libra. The ultimate value, where it will go, depends on the construction of the Move ecosystem. We believe that the Move ecology represented by Aptos\Sui represents the highest technology development of the current blockchain and has the opportunity to stand out and become the third “parallel universe” public chain era parallel to the pioneering level of Bitcoin and Ether. The Move public chain (Aptos/Sui) we are pursuing now has the potential to become the third “parallel universe” chain. This goal and vision, it is not overestimated at the moment.

To sum up, it depends on market enthusiasm in the short term, possible value return in the medium term, and ecological development and vision in the long term.
